Reporter Lee Jae-hoon = Trending group ‘Seventeen’ (SVT) wrote a new history of K-pop with their 10th mini album ‘FML’.
According to album distributor YG PLUS on the 5th, the sales of Seventeen’s ‘FML’, released on April 24th, exceeded 6.2 million copies. As a result, ‘FML’ not only set a new sales record for Seventeen itself in about two months after its release, but also became the best-selling album of all time as a single K-pop album. In particular, Seventeen is the first K-pop artist to exceed 6 million copies sold with a single album.
Seventeen is achieving remarkable results on various global charts with ‘FML’. She became the only artist to exceed 3 million copies sold on the first day of release of her record worldwide. After entering the US Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ (as of May 13) at No. 2, it stayed on the chart for 8 consecutive weeks, writing a new record, the longest charting period on the ‘Billboard 200’ as a Seventeen album.
In addition, ‘FML’ is a comprehensive album chart, ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Album Sales’ on the Billboard Japan 2023 first half chart (counting period, November 28, 2022 – May 28, 2023). )’, respectively, they took 3rd place.
