Reporter Lee Jae-hoon = Global super group ‘BTS’ celebrates the 10th anniversary of their debut, and everywhere in Seoul is dyed purple.
According to the agency Big Hit Music and the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 12th, from this day to the 25th, eight major landmarks in Seoul, including Some Sebit, Namsan Seoul Tower, City Hall, DDP, and World Cup Bridge, will turn purple. Media façades (projecting content images onto the outer walls of buildings) are also screened at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Sebitseom (Yevitseom), and Namsan Seoul Tower.
It is one of the ‘2023 BTS Festa’, a festival commemorating the 10th anniversary of BTS’ debut. BTS Festa is a festival that BTS celebrates their debut day (June 13) and enjoys with fans.
In a total of 14 places, including the Seoul Tourist Information Center and tourist information centers, tour guides create a welcoming atmosphere for tourists by wearing BTS goods (planned products) and placing posters for the ‘2023 BTS Festa’.
The main event to decorate the grand finale of ‘2023 BTS Festa’ will be held at Hangang Park in Yeouido on the 17th. It will be held in the form of a festival that can be enjoyed by both the BTS fandom, ARMY, and the public. Among the BTS members, leader RM also has time to meet fans directly on the spot. A fireworks festival is also held.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization will hold various events and giveaways related to BTS through the ‘Seoul in Purple’ booth. When you visit the booth, you can receive a card with a map of 7 attractions in Seoul. The card contains the lyrics of BTS’ songs suitable for each location. A ‘Stamp Tour’ will also be held to present prizes through a lottery when you upload a certified photo after visiting major attractions in downtown Seoul related to BTS, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Hangang Park, and Bangtan Forest.
BTS and Hive have already dyed the places where they held concerts, such as Los Angeles (LA), Las Vegas, and Busan, in purple in consultation with local governments.
