Reporter Lee Jae-hoon = American super pop star Madonna (64), who was hospitalized in an intensive care unit due to a bacterial infection, is recovering.
Madonna said on her social media on the 10th (local time), “I am currently focusing on getting healthy and strong. I will come back to you as soon as I can.”
This is the first time Madonna has directly revealed her current situation since she was found unconscious at her home in New York on the 24th and was rushed to the hospital. She also posted a selfie that appeared to have been taken at her own home in Manhattan, New York.
Madonna added, “I am recovering. I am incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”
Due to this hospitalization, Madonna postponed her world tour ‘Celebration’, which was scheduled to depart from Vancouver, Canada on the 15th. As a result, about half of the North American tour schedule, 41 performances, will be rescheduled. The tour started in Europe in October.
Live Nation, which is producing Madonna’s tour, notified fans, “Please keep your tickets as they are valid for new dates.”
The New York Times said, “Rescheduling tours for any reason is a complex and costly process, music insiders say,” and “with the return of live music after the COVID-19 pandemic, large venues have been filled with schedules months in advance.” told
Madonna is known as the female artist who has sold many records in history. This year marks the 40th anniversary of her debut, and she is still very active. She released the song ‘Popular’, which she participated with The Weeknd, as part of the soundtrack for the HBO drama ‘The Idol’. She also unveiled her new single ‘VULGAR’ with British pop star Sam Smith.
